Gail Shalan (she/her) is a NYC-based storyteller originally from Stockbridge, MA. She holds an MFA in Acting from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has worked in both the U.S. and U.K. in theatre, film, and voice over. Gail has narrated nearly 100 audiobooks for Simon & Schuster, PRH, HarperCollins, Dreamscape, Tantor / Highbridge, Blackstone, Brilliance, Audible UK, Realm Media, and more. She is also a narrator and producer on The StoryLight Podcast (available wherever you listen to podcasts), a puppeteer, and one-half of the International folk duo, The Strange Bedfellows. She is a true melting-pot American with Mediterranean, Eastern European (Ashkenazi), North African (Mizrahi), and North Western European heritage. She is learning more every day about her anxiety and ADHD (and loves telling stories that explore this space). She loves to engage in conversations about life experience, heritage, and identity. When she is not exploring the globe, performing, she lives in Queens with her partner and their french bulldog Edith, where she can be found watching British Television, and -- in stereotypical millennial fashion -- enjoying biodynamic wine, locally-sourced food, and a daily yoga practice.
