With the Battle of Portlandia behind him, Chase is a hero now, and the rank and file truly believe he’s the prince the Command Team claims he is.
For his part, Chase has made his choice, and now he’s committed. As the face of the revolution, he’s in it to win it because anything else will lead to his death. The twenty-five million-credit bounty on his head will see to that.
The problem he faces now is convincing Fleet Captain Witner and his Command Team to trust him when Chase still doesn’t trust them enough to tell them who he truly is. Chase has been betrayed too many times in his past to come clean easily, and for all that, he’s doing everything they ask of him. Until the Captain and his team give him a seat at the table, he’s not about to start trusting any of them.
So he’s content to let them continue believing he’s a fraud of their own creation to justify the search for a real heir.
Still, he now has Claire on his side, and he can’t think of anyone else he’d rather have there. She’s as driven as he is and at least as crazy. He’s never met a better fighter and probably never will. As a duchess, she’s been teaching him valuable lessons about how to act and what to say. As a friend and lover, she’s giving him something he never thought he’d have—a reason to win.

Wayne has had a knack and love for acting since he was a child. Be it elementary school talent shows & plays, to the teen educating drama group Teens Teaching Through Theater (T-4), to high school then college speech team (forensics), to creating original pieces on 16mm film and video, he’s always sought various ways to live the life of a storyteller. As an LA based (Meisner trained) actor of 20+yrs, he's appeared in a dozen TV shows, loop grouped over a hundred episodes of TV & numerous films, and in 2015 co-wrote/directed the independent feature -available on Prime Video- called SOLEDAD. Think ‘Taxi Driver’ meets ‘Pretty in Pink’. After listening to a podcast in 2018 where screenwriter turned novelist, John August, covered every aspect of his debut fantasy series “Arlo Finch” -and he described auditioning and choosing a narrator for his audiobook- Wayne has made it his mission to become a full time audiobook narrator. “As a kid, my brother and I listened to the audio versions of ‘Lord of the RIngs’, ‘Disney’s Robin Hood’, and ‘Return of the Jedi’ so much that I knew every line of every part and it laid the ground work for the storyteller I am today.” Wayne currently has over 160 titles available on Audible, and is known in the world of LitRPG and Romance. “Reacting truthfully under imaginary circumstances is Sanford Meisner’s definition of acting, and in even the grandest of scenarios, be they intergalactic in scope, or mind-bendingly evil in nature, connecting to the truth and humanity within every character (even the non-humans) is the utmost priority.”
